Using DT as a tool to optimize Jugaad practices to boost innovations in agr
Design Thinking Ghana Hub | Status: Ended
Date: Time: 6:00 PM | Fee: Free
How do we get key stakeholders in the agricultural value chain (especially farmers), who seems to be masters of improvisation, to realize and trust in their creative confidence to boost productivity? Innovation in agriculture is crucial to address the global challenges of food security, sustainability, and rural development. Jugaad, a Hindi word meaning “an innovative solution using limited resources,” has been a prevalent practice, particularly in resource-constrained settings like many farming communities in Ghana. However, to harness the full potential of jugaad and drive sustainable agricultural innovations in resource constraint settings like rural farming communities in Ghana, it is essential to combine it with structured problem-solving approaches like Design Thinking. This meetup is to explore the synergies between Design Thinking and jugaad practices (improvisation). The aim is to establish ways to cause farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural value chain, to accept and innovate more around everyday constraints that inhibit productivity in the agric sector. The session will look at triggers or pathways to improvisation in general and how they can be linked to design thinking concepts/framework, therefore introducing structure to the way of “teaching” and “reinforcing” innovation through improvisation, especially for the purpose of boosting productivity in agriculture. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, ideate, and inspire future innovations in agriculture. Register now for a transformative event!

The customer journey map is an essential aspect of any business. It describes the complete set of interactions that a customer has with a brand, from initial awareness to post-purchase follow-up- highlighting the ups, downs, and in between. As such, the customer journey map is a powerful tool that helps businesses understand and visualize the user journey, identify pain points, and optimize their overall customer experience. This meetup aims to explore the customer journey map tool and how it can be used to improve business processes. The main objective is to give attendees an in-depth understanding of the customer journey map tool and its benefits. We will explore case studies on implementing journey maps and engage participants in a live work session to co-develop a journey map surrounding their consumer experience. Participants will therefore learn how to create a customer journey map, interpret it, and use the insights to improve their businesses. It is a unique opportunity to explore the customer journey map tool in-depth, gain insights into your customer processes, and learn how to develop actionable strategies for improving your business processes and customer experience.
