Brief Description

The Desert Accelerator Programme seeks to train entrepreneurs in various areas of business to up-scale. This seeks to equip the startups with the needed tools and skills to run their businesses responsibly.
Below are the objectives of the programme:

1. Train the startups to understand basic concepts of business operations
2. Develop their edge for investor readiness
3. Assist them in building the necessary documents for business operations
4. Train them to make use of digital tools to improve sales and other parts of their businesses
5. Improve their bookkeeping skills, etc.

The Desert Accelerator programme seeks to equip early-stage startups with areas in investor readiness, bookkeeping, etc. to help them scale up their business operations. The startups meet once every week to receive training on necessary aspects of development.

Training details

Describe the format of your programme.:

Startups and businesses attend sessions every week on Wednesday for a period of six (6) months (24 weeks). Selected topics tackling specific concepts of businesses are deliberated, geared towards the understanding and usage of this knowledge in the startups’ operations.

The programme tackles topics as below:
1. Enterprise Matching Exercise: This will allow selected startups to intern with various successful businesses, thus learning from them. This will also help them set expectations for the upcoming Desert Accelerator Programme.
2. Leadership and Team Managements sessions set in.
3. Sessions on business model innovations, which involve business modelling and canvas, innovation strategies, etc., will then be held for the startups.
4. Next are trainings on Market Research
5. Strategic Growth Plan and Financial Modelling trainings
6. Lastly, we take the startups through investor-readiness sessions and a capital raise plan.

The startups involved are early-stage startups and growth businesses.
The training seeks to equip the startups with the abilities to keep records, become investor-ready, and expand their market horizons.
